A Study on the Vocational Rehabilitation Service Provider¡¯s Perception of the Factors Influencing the Job Maintenance on the Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract
This study uses a phenomenological qualitative approach of Van Kaam to comprehensively analyze the Vocational Rehabilitation Service Provider¡¯s Perception of the Factors Influencing the Job Maintenance on the Intellectual Disabilities. The study has found three categories of the factors in order: the individual factors, the family and social factors, the job environment factors. And the first category, ¡¯the individual factors,¡¯ consists of three parts: independent living ability, job-related ability, and general characteristics. The second category, ¡¯the family and social factors¡¯, is also divided into three parts: family support, professional support, and social support. The last category, ¡¯the job environment factors¡¯, consists of two parts: Job environment and employer¡¯s recognition. This study suggests that firstly we need to maximize the effectiveness through building up the connection between group home, supporting center for independent living and vocational rehabilitation, and secondly, we do more quantitative researches, applying new and comprehensible criteria including diverse factors found from several qualitative researches and the results of them.
